Sharing by email and social
Send your document link to recipients by email, or share on social platforms.
EveryPage can hand your share link to someone for you: by email, sent from EveryPage with a personal note, or through a social network's own share composer. Both send the same link a reader would get from anywhere else.
Share by email
Send your document link to one recipient with an optional personal message. The "Email" button is in the Share panel on the document's Configure & Share page; it appears only when you are signed in. There is no email-share action in the library.
The form asks for a recipient name and a recipient email — both are required — plus an optional message. The email that goes out is addressed to the recipient by name, states that you shared a PDF with them, quotes your message if you wrote one, and carries the link.
You can only email links to your own documents: the endpoint checks ownership and refuses anything else, so it cannot be used to send mail about someone else's file. Sends are rate limited to 10 requests per minute per IP address.
Recipients get the ordinary share link, so the document's settings apply as usual — a password or email gate is presented to them exactly as it would be on any other visit.
Available to: Any signed-in account, on any plan. Anonymous uploaders must claim their document first; before that the button is replaced with a prompt to create an account.
Social share row
The "Share On" row in the same Share panel links out to six destinations:
- X
- Telegram
- Email (a plain
mailto:link)
Each opens that platform's own share composer in a new tab with your share link filled in; X, WhatsApp, Telegram and the mailto: link also carry the document's filename as the text or subject. These are plain intent links — nothing is posted on your behalf, and no third-party script is loaded. Available on all plans, and on unclaimed anonymous uploads.
When to use each option
Share by email sends the message from EveryPage, addressed to one recipient, and marks the resulting visits as email. Social sharing hands the link to another application to distribute and adds no attribution.
Neither option tells you who opened the document. To attribute a view to a named recipient, use email invites, which send a per-recipient tracked link. To give one recipient a link you can revoke or restrict — different download or page-range rules on the same document — use link variants.
How links work
Both routes send your document's standard share URL, built in the order vanity slug → short ID → UUID. The slug form is only used when a custom domain is serving your links, since slugs do not resolve on everypage.co; otherwise recipients get the short-ID link.
The email share appends ?via=email to that link, so opens from it are attributed to the email source in your audience breakdowns. The social destinations carry the bare link with no attribution parameter, so those opens are recorded as ordinary link visits and cannot be distinguished from someone pasting the URL directly.
