Browser extension

Upload PDFs to EveryPage from Chrome or Edge, get a tracked share link and QR code, and see readership from the toolbar.

The EveryPage browser extension lets you share a PDF without leaving your browser. Pick a file in the toolbar popup, or right-click a PDF link or a PDF open in a tab. You get back a tracked share link and a QR code.

It also lists your files, shows readership, and can send a desktop notification when someone reads one of your documents. It works in Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Install

  • Chrome: install it from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Edge: search for "EveryPage" in Microsoft Edge Add-ons and install it from there.

Pin the extension to your toolbar so the popup is one click away.

Connect your account

The extension needs an EveryPage account. A free account works.

  1. Open the extension popup and click Connect. This opens the extension's settings page.
  2. Click Connect EveryPage account and sign in to EveryPage.

You sign in once. The extension gets a limited token that can upload PDFs, manage your links and read your readership counts, and nothing else. You can revoke it at any time from your account page under Connected apps, or click Disconnect on the extension's settings page.

Use an API key instead

If you prefer, open Advanced: use an API key instead on the settings page. Paste a key that starts with ep_live_ and click Save. A key gives full access to your account, so treat it like a password. To remove it, click Remove stored key. If you have both, the sign-in token is used.

Share a PDF

From the popup

  1. Open the popup and go to the Upload tab.
  2. Choose a PDF, or drop one on the drop area.
  3. Set the link options you want. Options your plan doesn't include stay visible but disabled, with a link to upgrade.
  4. Click Upload & get link.

The upload keeps running if you close the popup.

Right-click a link to a PDF, or right-click a PDF open in a browser tab, and choose Share this PDF via EveryPage. The extension downloads the file and uploads it. A notification shows Fetching PDF… and then Share link ready, with Copy link and Open buttons.

The first time you share a PDF from a site, your browser asks for permission to read that site. The extension uses it only to download that one file.

What you get back

When the upload finishes, the popup shows:

  • The share link, with a Copy button.
  • A QR code for the link.
  • Open link and Configure in app, which opens the file's settings in EveryPage.
  • Share another, to start again.

The link follows the same rules as any other EveryPage link. See Share links and short IDs.

Manage files and readership

The popup has two more tabs.

  • Files lists your uploads. You can copy or open a link, edit its settings, or delete the file.
  • Readership shows reads across your files and a ranked list. Open a file for its detail. How much you see depends on your plan.

Settings

The extension's settings page has an Activity notifications section. Turn on Notify me about activity on my documents, then choose what to be told about:

  • Reads, on by default.
  • Downloads, off by default. This includes files you download yourself.
  • Form fills, which needs Pro.

Use Check every to pick 1, 5 or 15 minutes. Checks run in the background, so notifications are not instant. A green dot appears on the toolbar icon when there is new activity.

What the extension can access

The extension's standing access is limited to everypage.co. For a PDF you right-click, it asks for access to that one site so it can download the file. It uploads only the PDFs you choose. For the full details, see the extension privacy policy.
