Reporting a document
How anyone can report a document shared through EveryPage, what happens after a report, and what to do if your own document is paused.
Every document shared through EveryPage carries a Report control, so a reader who lands on something harmful can say so without an account. Reports are read by a person. Nothing is decided by a machine alone, but the service does pause a document on its own when independent readers report it, so that any harm stops while someone looks.
Reporting a document
Open the document and press Report in the viewer header. If the document sits behind a password or an email gate, the same link appears under the gate, so you can report a document you cannot open. Choose the category that fits best and, if it helps, add a line about what you saw:
- Phishing or a scam
- Malware or a dangerous link
- Copyright or trademark
- Private information about someone
- Spam
- Something else
Reports are anonymous. EveryPage keeps a pseudonymous identifier for the reporter, derived the same way as reader identities and never the address itself (see Encryption and privacy), so repeat reports from the same reader count once. Reporting is rate limited per address.
What happens next
Each report is emailed to the operator the moment it lands and joins a review queue. When two independent readers report the same document it is paused: readers see a short notice in place of the document, link previews go generic (no title or image), and the document can no longer be republished from Canva. The document itself is untouched, and its owner can still open it while signed in.
A person then reviews the reports against the terms of service. One of three things happens:
- The reports were mistaken. They are dismissed and the document is available again straight away.
- The reports were mistaken and the document keeps attracting them. It is marked trusted: later reports are still recorded and read, but they no longer pause it.
- The document breaks the rules. It is removed, its links stop working for good, and the owner is emailed.
If your document was paused
Sign in and open the link: you will see the document, with a notice that it is paused for review. If you think the reports are mistaken, email support@everypage.co with the link. Pausing is a hold, not a judgement, and reviews happen quickly.
