Billing and plans

Manage your EveryPage subscription, upgrade plans, and understand billing through Stripe.

EveryPage has three plans: free, Basic, and Pro. Pricing is flat per account — there are no seats, teams or per-user charges, so one account is one subscription. Payment, plan changes and invoices all run through Stripe.

Plan pricing

Free: $0 per month
Basic: $9/month, or $90/year — $7.50/mo billed annually, saving $18 a year
Pro: $29/month, or $290/year — $24/mo billed annually, saving $58 a year

For a complete feature comparison, see plans and limits.

Upgrading to a paid plan

To upgrade from free or switch to a paid tier:

  1. Go to /pricing and choose monthly or annual billing with the toggle
  2. Click Subscribe on the Basic or Pro card (if you are not signed in, this sends you to sign-up first)
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete payment
  4. After a successful payment you're returned to a confirmation page, and your plan updates as soon as Stripe confirms the checkout

If you already have an active subscription, the button reads Manage plan and takes you to your account page, where the billing portal link lives. A second checkout on an account that is already subscribed is refused outright — it would create a second subscription and bill you twice, so plan changes belong in the portal.

Managing your subscription

All billing management—switching plans, updating payment methods, downloading invoices, and viewing renewal dates—happens in the Stripe billing portal. To access it:

  1. Go to /account
  2. In the Subscription section, click Manage Subscription
  3. You'll be taken to your Stripe customer portal, and returned to /account when you leave it

The portal needs an existing Stripe billing account: on an account that has never subscribed, the button reports that there is no billing account to open.

From there, you can:

  • Switch between Basic and Pro plans
  • Change your billing period (monthly to annual or vice versa)
  • Update your payment method
  • Download invoices
  • Cancel your subscription
  • View your next renewal date and current charges

Switching plans

You can upgrade or downgrade at any time by opening the billing portal (see above). Your EveryPage tier is re-derived from Stripe when the change is confirmed, so features follow the new plan as soon as the change lands. Charges, proration and dates are handled by Stripe and shown in the portal before you confirm.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal:

  1. Go to /account and click Manage Subscription
  2. Choose the cancel option and confirm

Paid features stop when the subscription actually ends — immediately or at the end of the current period, depending on which option you take in the portal. Your account and files remain either way: you drop back to the free plan, and the readership data you have already collected stays in place.

What happens when you downgrade

When you downgrade to a lower plan, features stop being served but data is preserved. Here's what changes:

Analytics and readership: Measurement itself is not tiered — view sessions, page-level stats and captured emails keep recording on every plan. What changes is what you can see: dropping from Pro to Basic removes reader identities, live presence and CSV export from your reporting, and dropping to free leaves only the summary cards. Nothing is deleted, so upgrading again reveals the history recorded while you were on the lower plan.

Page ranges: Page-range enforcement survives a downgrade on purpose. A link you shared showing pages 4–9 keeps showing pages 4–9 after you drop off Pro — a downgrade must never widen access to a link you have already sent. You just cannot set or change a range until you are back on Pro.

Watermarks: Watermarking works the other way, and this is worth knowing before you downgrade. The overlay is applied only while the document's owner is on Pro, so a downgrade stops it being applied to new views and downloads even though the setting stays stored on the file. Upgrading turns it back on.

Expiry caps: The per-plan cap (free 7 days, Basic 365 days, Pro unlimited, including never-expire) is enforced when an expiry is set. Links that already carry a longer expiry keep it through a downgrade; the cap bites the next time that expiry is written — when you edit the link's settings, or when you restore the file from the trash, at which point it is re-based to your current plan's maximum.

Comments and receipts: These are served against your current tier, so they stop appearing to readers when you drop below the plan that includes them — comments need Pro, read receipts need Basic or Pro. Everything already collected is retained and reappears when you upgrade.

Email gates: A gate you turned on keeps gating after a downgrade, and keeps capturing addresses; what you lose is the Pro-only reporting that lets you read the captured leads back. As with page ranges, a downgrade does not open a document you had closed.

If you want to restore a feature, you can upgrade back to the plan at any time, and your settings and data pick up where they left off.

Annual vs. monthly billing

Monthly and annual are separate Stripe prices for the same tier, and both renew automatically until cancelled. Switching between them is a plan change in the billing portal, which shows the new amount and date before you confirm.

Invoices and receipts

Invoices and payment methods live in the Stripe billing portal, where you can view and download them.
