Email gate (Pro)

Readers enter a working email before the first page opens, so every read of the whitepaper is a lead with a name, not a line in an anonymous view count.

Read depth per lead

Reader identities (Pro) with page-by-page time show which leads read the whole argument and which closed the tab at the executive summary.

Your domain, your brand (Pro)

The link lives on docs.yourcompany.com with your logo and colours on the viewer, so the whitepaper never looks like it was hosted somewhere else.

New edition, same link (Pro)

Replace the PDF behind the link when the next edition is ready and every campaign email, ad and partner page already pointing at it serves the new version.

A whitepaper landing page without the landing page

The usual whitepaper pipeline needs a landing page, a form, a thank-you page, an email with the PDF attached and an automation rule to tie them together. An EveryPage link collapses that into one URL: the reader arrives, enters an email, and the whitepaper opens in the browser. The lead is recorded with the reading session that produced it, and the address is on file before the first page loads.

The lead form (Pro) takes up to five custom fields if you need company and role as well as email, and a domain allowlist can keep a partner-only paper inside the partner companies. Lead webhooks deliver each completed form to your CRM or Slack as it happens, so the sales follow-up can start while the reader is still on page four.

What you get with every gated whitepaper

  • Email capture before reading (Pro). The gate sits in front of the document, not on a separate page. Every reader is attributed to an address, and you can export the list as CSV or send it straight to your CRM.
  • Page analytics without IPs. Time on every page and the read-through funnel (from the Basic plan) show where the argument holds attention. EveryPage never stores a reader IP, so the analytics come without the privacy cost.
  • Your own domain (Pro). Share from a subdomain you control, with a vanity slug that reads like a page on your site rather than a file ID.
  • Upload the Word draft. A .docx up to 25MB converts to PDF on upload, on every plan, so the whitepaper can go out before the designed version exists and be replaced by it later.

See if leads read past the executive summary

Downloads were never a good measure of a whitepaper. A lead who read the summary and closed the tab counts the same as one who spent twenty minutes on the methodology and came back the next day, and the sales team follows up on both with the same email. Reader identities on Pro separate them: each named lead has a page-by-page record, a total time and a return count.

That turns the whitepaper into a scoring tool. The leads who reached the final chapter get the call; the ones who stopped at page two get the shorter follow-up. Across the campaign, the funnel shows which section loses readers, and the next edition fixes it on the same link.

Whitepaper sharing questions.

Is it free to share a whitepaper as a link?

Sharing is free: up to three PDFs of 20MB each on never-expiring links, with views, readers and time spent. The email gate, custom domain, reader identities and replacing the file behind the link are Pro features; page-by-page analytics start on the Basic plan.

Can I upload the whitepaper as a Word document?

Yes. A .docx up to 25MB is converted to PDF on upload and shared like any other document, on every plan. When the designed PDF is ready, Pro lets you swap it in behind the same link.

What information do you collect from readers?

Only what the gate asks for: an email address, plus up to five custom fields if you add a lead form. Readers who are not gated get a pseudonymous ID, and EveryPage never stores an IP address either way.

Can I publish a revised edition on the same link?

On Pro, yes. Replace the PDF behind the link and every existing URL, QR code and embed serves the new edition immediately, with the lead list and readership history carried on. Nothing in the campaign needs updating.

Can the whitepaper live on our own domain?

Yes, on Pro. Connect a subdomain such as docs.yourcompany.com, brand the viewer with your logo and colours, and give the whitepaper a vanity slug. The link in the campaign reads as yours end to end.

Gate the next whitepaper.

Upload the PDF, switch on the email gate, and see which leads read the whole argument before the follow-up.
