Share as a link: report
Share your report as a secure link
Send the board pack, the audit findings or the client report as a link instead of an attachment: the reader confirms receipt on the record, the link takes a password and burns after a set number of views, and you see which sections were read rather than skimmed.

Read receipts
The reader taps "Mark as received" in the viewer and the confirmation lands in your dashboard with a timestamp - proof of receipt, not a guess (Basic).
Self-destructing links
Set a view limit and the report deletes itself after that many reads, so a link forwarded beyond the intended circle finds nothing (Basic).
Watermark every page
Per-viewer watermarking (Pro) tiles each reader's email or reader ID across every page and stamps it into any download, so a leaked page names its source.
Section-level reading
Page-by-page time (Basic) shows whether the recommendations got ten minutes or ten seconds, and the exact page where readers stopped.
Know the report was read, not just delivered
An emailed report tells you nothing after send. The attachment may have been opened, printed, forwarded to the wrong person or left unread until the meeting, and you find out which only when someone asks a question the report answered on page two. A link changes that: a view notification tells you the moment it is opened, and a read receipt gives the reader a "Mark as received" button that records who acknowledged it and when.
That is a different standard of delivery. When the compliance report, the audit findings or the quarterly board pack has a receipt against every name, the "I never saw it" conversation stops happening. And because the confirmation is something the reader chooses to send, it counts as an acknowledgement rather than a tracking pixel firing on a preview.
Controls for confidential reports
- Password-protect the link. A password (Basic) keeps the report to the people you gave it to; a forwarded link without the password opens nothing. Send the link and the password by separate routes if the contents warrant it.
- Self-destruct after a set number of views. The self-destruct is a view limit (Basic), not a date: allow five reads for five recipients and the sixth attempt finds the link gone, with your readership record intact.
- Watermark each copy (Pro). Every page carries the viewer's email or reader ID and a timestamp, on screen and inside any downloaded copy, so a photographed or forwarded page can be traced to its reader.
- No reader IPs, ever. Readers are identified by a pseudonymous ID unless they enter an email, and EveryPage never stores an IP address. Files are encrypted at rest, which makes the security questionnaire a shorter conversation.
Which sections got read (and which got skipped)
A report is rarely read cover to cover, and it helps to know which parts were. Page-by-page analytics (from the Basic plan) show the time spent on every page and the read-through funnel across the document: the executive summary read twice, the methodology skipped, the recommendations open for fourteen minutes. If most readers stop at page six, the next report puts the conclusion before page six.
The same report also tells you who came back. A re-read of the financial appendix the day before the board meeting is a signal worth having. The free plan already records views, readers and time spent per document, so the summary is there before you decide whether you need the page-level detail.
Report sharing questions.
Is it free to share a report as a link?
Yes. The free plan shares up to three PDFs of 20MB each as never-expiring links, with views, readers and time spent per report. Read receipts, password protection, self-destruct and page-by-page reading come with the Basic plan; per-viewer watermarking is a Pro feature.
What file types and sizes can I upload?
PDF up to 20MB on the free plan, 200MB on Basic and 2GB on Pro. Word documents (.docx, up to 25MB) and PowerPoint files (up to 50MB) are converted to PDF on upload; a report built in Excel should be exported to PDF first.
Is sharing a confidential report this way privacy-compliant?
Reader IPs are never stored: each reader gets a pseudonymous ID, and a name or email is attached only if they enter one or you invite them by name. Files are encrypted at rest, and you can delete the report, or let it self-destruct, at any time.
Can I correct a figure after the report has been sent?
On Pro, yes: replace the PDF behind the link and every copy of the link already sent opens the corrected version, with the readership history carried on. On free and Basic, upload the corrected report and share its new link.
Can the report expire after the meeting?
Two ways. Set an expiry date on any plan and the link returns "Gone" from that moment, or set a view limit (Basic) so it self-destructs after a set number of reads. Your record of who read it, and when, stays in the dashboard.
Send the next report as a link.
Upload the report, switch on read receipts and a password, and know before the meeting who has read it and how far they got.
