Folders

Organize documents into flat categories for scoped analytics and easier navigation.

Folders help you organize documents into categories within your library. Grouping related documents makes navigation easier and enables folder-level analytics reporting.

Structure

Your library uses a flat folder structure—every document lives at the top level, optionally filed into exactly one folder. There is no nesting: a document cannot appear in multiple folders or in a subfolder.

Owner-scoped organization

Folders are owner-scoped: you see only your own folders. Another user's folders do not appear in your library, and you cannot file a document into another user's folder.

Creating and managing folders

The folder rail above your document list displays all your folders with live file counts, alongside an "All" chip and an "Unfiled" chip. To create a folder, click "+ New folder" and enter a name (1 to 100 characters, after leading and trailing whitespace is trimmed). The folder is created immediately and appended to the end of your list.

Select a folder chip to rename or delete it: Rename and Delete links appear beside the rail for the selected folder.

File a document into a folder by dragging its row onto the folder chip. Dragging a document onto the Unfiled chip removes it from any folder. You can also file documents in bulk using the "Move to folder" dropdown in the multi-select bar.

Deleting a folder

When you delete a folder, its documents move to Unfiled—they are not deleted. This preserves your documents and their full analytics history while removing the organizational grouping. The deletion is permanent, but your documents survive it.

Analytics by folder

When you select a folder, your portfolio summary cards (total reads, unique readers, downloads) update to show data for just that folder's documents, as do the per-document rows and the recent activity table.

Folder scoping applies to the library-wide portfolio view only. Read-through funnels, viewer breakdowns, per-page stats and CSV export are per-document reports, and are not scoped by folder.

For details on portfolio reporting and analytics, see Portfolio Overview.

Bulk operations

You can move multiple documents to a folder in a single action. Select the documents you want to move, then choose the target folder from the "Move to folder" dropdown in the selection bar.

For more on bulk document operations, see Bulk Operations.

Availability

Folders are available on the Basic plan and above. Every folder operation is gated the same way — listing, creating, renaming, deleting, and assigning a document to a folder (individually or in bulk) all require Basic or Pro. Free accounts can view and manage their full library without folder organization.
